VR Headset Repair in South Jersey — Screen Replacements, Tracking Issues, and Charging Port Fixes
VR headsets break. Lenses crack, charging ports fail, tracking stops working, screens go dead. Most people don't know where to take them—and most repair shops don't work on them.
We do. At the shop in Berlin, we fix VR headsets—Meta Quest units, PlayStation VR, HTC Vive controllers, Valve Index hardware. The work ranges from simple—replacing a cracked lens cover or a broken head strap—to board-level micro soldering on a charging port that won't take power anymore.
What Actually Breaks on VR Headsets
The most common problem is the charging port. These things get plugged in after every session, often in low light, and the port gets stressed. USB-C ports on Quest headsets are especially prone to breaking—the solder joints crack or the port physically separates from the board. That's a micro-solder job. We remove the old port, clean the pads, and solder a new one under magnification. It's the same work we do on game consoles and phones, just on a different device.
Tracking issues come up a lot. If your headset can't see where it is in space, the problem is usually the cameras or sensors—either physically damaged or covered in residue. Sometimes it's firmware, but more often it's a broken ribbon cable or a sensor that took an impact. We can test which component failed and replace it if parts are available.
Cracked lenses or screens need replacement. The lens assembly on most headsets is modular—it can be swapped without replacing the entire display. A full screen replacement is more involved, but it's still cheaper than buying a new headset.
Controller drift and dead buttons are fixable. The joystick modules inside VR controllers are the same type used in game console controllers—they wear out, and we replace them. Trigger switches, grip sensors, and battery contacts can all be repaired or replaced.
Why Most Shops Don't Touch VR
VR headsets aren't phones. They don't have the same parts supply, the same repair volume, or the same how-to videos online. A mall kiosk that does screen replacements all day isn't set up to disassemble a Quest 2 or solder a new charging port onto an Index.
We are. The skills transfer—micro soldering is micro soldering, whether it's a Switch, a PS5 HDMI port, or a VR headset USB-C port. Diagnostics are diagnostics. And we've been doing board-level work and oddball repairs for 20 years, so a VR headset isn't a stretch.
What We Can and Can't Do
If the part exists and the board isn't cooked, we can usually fix it. Charging ports, broken housings, cracked lenses, dead batteries, torn head straps, drifting controllers—all repairable.
What we can't do: if the main processor or display driver IC is dead, or if the headset took water damage and multiple components failed, the board may be beyond economical repair. We'll tell you that up front, and we won't charge you to find out it's not fixable.
We also don't do anything that involves circumventing firmware, unlocking, or jailbreaking. Straight hardware repair only.
Mail-In Is an Option
If you're not local to South Jersey, you can ship the headset to us. We'll diagnose it, call you with a price, fix it, and ship it back. That's how most of our VR work comes in—people searching for someone who actually repairs these things, not just a vendor trying to sell a replacement.
Pack it well. Use the original box if you still have it. Include a note with your contact number and a description of the problem. We'll call you when it arrives.
A Rare Service Locally
Say you're looking for VR headset repair in the area—you won't find many shops advertising it. It's not a huge market, but it does mean that if your Quest won't charge or your Index controller has drift, you don't have a lot of options nearby.
We're one of them.
The Rest of What We Fix
VR headsets are a small part of what comes through the door. Most of the work is phones, tablets, game consoles, laptops, desktops, and Macs. We do custom PC builds. We do micro soldering on charging ports and HDMI ports and logic boards that other shops call dead. We do data recovery with software pulls when a machine won't boot. We buy and sell used electronics and laptops. We do house calls and in-home lessons if you need help with your setup.
One shop, lots of different work. That's the whole idea.
If your VR headset is broken and you were told it's not worth fixing, call us and describe what's wrong. We'll tell you if it's fixable and what it costs.
Call (856) 787-8486 or stop by the shop at 41 Clementon Rd, Berlin, NJ (store 133, closest entrance A7). Open Thursday through Sunday, 10am–5pm.

Imagine a Meta Quest 2 with a cracked lens and a controller that won't pair. Display's fine—just the optic and the Bluetooth module acting up.
The fix: replace the lens assembly, re-seat the controller's board. Both pieces back to working order. We checked 15 repair shops around here—none of them advertise VR headset repair. We do.
Call (856) 787-8486 or stop by 41 Clementon Rd, Berlin NJ (store 133, entrance A7). Open Thursday–Sunday, 10am–5pm.

Say a PlayStation 5 comes in with no video output. Nine times out of ten it's the HDMI port—and the problem sits underneath the top row of pins where you can't see it. Fractured solder joints. You fix it by technique and feel under the microscope because you're soldering blind.
That's board-level micro soldering work. Most shops won't touch it because it's hard and it takes real equipment. We do it here—pull the board, reflow the hidden connections, test with known-good cable and display.
We handle walk-in and mail-in—ship it to us, we fix it, ship it back. Call (856) 787-8486 or visit Thursday–Sunday, 10am–5pm, at 41 Clementon Rd, store #133, Berlin NJ (closest entrance A7).

PS5 won't display video. HDMI port is torn off the board.
The port sits on two rows of pins—one you can see, one hidden underneath. You solder it blind, by technique and pressure. Most shops don't have the equipment or the training.
We do. Port replaced, console tested, picture back.
Ship it to us or walk in. 41 Clementon Rd, Berlin NJ, store 133, entrance A7. Thursday–Sunday, 10–5. Call (856) 787-8486.
